Sustainable Small Projects: Green Remodeling
Thursday, April 22, 2010; 2:00-5:00 pm 3 HSW/SD hours AIA Connecticut, New Haven CT Russell Campaigne, AIA, David Dickson, Associate AIA, and Lindsay Suter, AIA, will present a 3-hour program focusing on different facets of "green" remodeling for small projects. Russell Campaigne, AIA will introduce and demonstrate the REM Design Energy Modeling program for small projects, with case studies illustrating the value of this new decision-making tool in the design process. David Dickson, Associate AIA will present a case study of the Neighborhood Housing Services building in New Haven, which illustrates how to put all the elements together. In Renovation Materials & Finishes Lindsay Suter, AIA will take a critical look at the deployment of materials and finishes in the context of existing construction, addressing longevity & performance, content & toxicity, recycling & creative reuse, budget realities, and impossible choices.
